Welcome to my 4th. Year Final Year Project

The changing face of Limerick City will provide a valuable source of information in an interactive way to the users interested in finding out about the development of Limerick City over the past number of years.
This project really motivates me as it combines my architectural experience and photography passion together to create a web site housing both aspects.
I love to take photographs of buildings and will be able to use some of those images in this project to help show off my native city to its best. I will be able to give an architectural feel to the web site by using an architectural style layout on the web page, which I hope will attract architectural inclined individuals.

Week beginning Monday 5th November

  • Still working on home page

  • Meeting with PG
Reviewed my progress since previous meeting.
To Do List for project following discussion with PG:Work on home page – not gelling together in Flash area – too much space, look at how the image button to the flash content could be used in a cutout of the architectural transparency

  • Had progress meeting with Mike OConnell. MOC advised me to keep a diary of every thing I do on the project - the reasons for doing certain things a certain way, and for changes that may occur.
MOC also asked me to write out the headings for my final chapter and PowerPoint presentation.History area with database is still causing me some concern

  • Called to Healy & Partners to collect information - but the not ready yet. REMINDER – Email / phone Richard Rice on same.

  • Phone Murray O’Laoire regarding Hugh Murray’s involvement with the regeneration of St. Mary’s Parish. Spoke to Hugh’s PA – Kate and she is going to see if she can set up an appointment for me in the next couple of weeks. Had emailed the company but got no response hence the phone call.

Week beginning Monday 29th. October

Redesigned my homepage to fit a 17" monitor 1000 x 574 pixels

  • Got the images of old Limerick in print and slide

  • Met with Pat Dowling in Limerick City Council - kept memo of meeting and he gave me contact names who will provide me with information for the project. Also met Richard Rice of Healy & Partners who is going to give me information on areas being revitalized in Limerick.

  • As I was concerned with pixel sizes for the flash file and dreamweaver file to clarify this in my head I created a small piece in flash and also set up the home page in dreamweaver and imported the flash file into dreamweaver – it works a treat – Can now proceed with the correct pixel sizes used.
